| him, for those who are called according to his purpose."
[Romans 8:28] There is something that the Lord wants out of my life, and I expect Him
to use this to take another piece of rebellion out of my heart. Jesus has said,
"Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent."
[Revelation 3:19] God has already seen fit to humble me considerably with this,
and I welcome that.
Even after this loss, Jesus is helping me to "not worry about tomorrow." [Matthew 6:25-31] I was still granted a scholarship worth a little less than half of tuition for keeping my Q.P.A. over 3.0, my parents have my room and board covered, and I have applied for a loan to cover the rest of my tuition and my books for next semester. Also, if, Lord willing, I bring my grades up over a 3.6 at the end of next semester, my full-tuition scholarship will be restored. I thank God for the fact that I am not worried about such things. "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! ...Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." --Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12. I've been missing Grove City and all of you who go to the College there with me, because I've come to realize that for the time being, it's my home. Most of you know that after I graduated from high school in New Jersey, I went to Germany for the summer, and while I was gone, my family moved to South Carolina. From Germany, I went straight back to New Jersey and then to GCC. I've been feeling somewhat misplaced down here in Dixie, and I miss all of |
you, my friends. I greatly look forward to being
back with you in the fall, but meanwhile I would love to hear from you; a letter
or two might help this plodding summer along a little.
"...Blessed be the Name of the Lord."In all these things I thank God that I have not forgotten Him. In good times and bad times, in victories and losses, I hope you will never forget that you are living before the face of God. What you think of that fact will show you which way you are facing, either toward or away from him. He has said, "Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow and every tongue will swear ... All who haved raged against Him will come to Him and be put to shame. But in the Lord all the descendants of Israel will be found righteous and exult." [Isaiah 45:22-25]As for my summer Job (perhaps the intended pronunciation is apparent to you now), I can only speak along with him who said it originally: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the name of the Lord ... Though he slay me, yet will I hope in Him; ... Indeed, this will turn out for my deliverance." [Job 1:21, 13:15-16] Hope to hear from you soon! I remain Your obed't servant, |
