  Diurnal Regime Change, Extremely Local.

Feeling very happy-tired this evening... Last night i went to bed around 11:30pm, woke up at 1:30am just for kicks (heh), and at 3:30am the fax machine of some evil corporation Caller-ID'd as "Evergreen Mortgage" tried to send a facsimile to the answering machine. Grrr...

I'm going to try to get to sleep a little earlier than usual tonight, i guess. Check out this link about the theory of the metaphor of intelligence as a neural representative republic. Perhaps one of the reasons i often have trouble falling asleep is that i've subconsciously believed in a strong, centralized tyrannical federal government within my own skull. I've started to think differently about sleep: When it's time to go to bed, i devolve just about all the power to the "states", and let them fight/play amongst themselves. Another interesting metaphor to consider is to think of dreams as collective neuronal leisure time, like a popular prime-time TV show or professional sports on the cellular level. Oh well, Good Night and stuff...
