  Snow!

Well, we got our one snow storm of the year this morning. And i wasn't particularly expecting it, either. I somehow forgot to turn on my clock alarm last night, so i woke up in groggy vexation at around 7:20am (45 minutes late). I turned on the radio, listening in confusion to the morning hosts talking about "secondary roads", and then got up, opened the curtains, and laughed out loud.

Ah, that delicious moment of surrealism and wonder, when one opens the curtains to see white where just yesterday was brown! I treasure those wondrous moments of delicious surprise, which are lovely tidbits of divine grace. Like the moment a month or so ago, when i got an envelope from my Auto Insurance company, about a week or so after i got a speeding ticket. Expecting a notice of an increase in my rate, i laughed out loud upon the revelation that it was actually a dividend check since they didn't have to pay for so many fender benders this year. Here's to serendipitous mercy!
